Coke Not Coal is a script written as part of the “Mining the Memories” project. One of eight short films made by people who experienced the 1980s miners' strike. Made in partnership between professional practitioners, academic researchers, senior participants, volunteers and Northern Film Students and Alumni.

The film was premiered at the Leeds International Film Festival, Sheffield Doc Fest, Bradford City of Film and Labour Film Festival.
